2 cups raw cashews
1 tbsp soy sauce, tamari, or Braggs aminos
3 tbsp nutritional yeast
* 1 tsp fresh ground pepper, herbs, spices, or seasoning mixes
* While these zingy cashews are delicious as is and don’t need additional seasoning, I encourage you to try mixing it up! My personal favourite way to make these is with the addition of zaβatar seasoning, another popular variation is with the addition of an everything bagel seasoning blend. However, what you add to the base recipe is up to your imagination! You can also create your own delicious custom seasoning using some of your favourite spices and herbs. Try adding things like freshly ground pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, paprika, thyme, parsley, or oregano!
Pre heat your oven to 300 f.
In a bowl toss the cashews with the soy sauce or alternative. You’ll notice the liquid will mostly bead off the nuts at first, keep stirring them every minute or more often until the cashews have absorbed all or almost all of the liquid.
Now add the nutritional yeast and optional seasonings, stir until the cashews are evenly coated.
Spread the cashews out in a single layer on a baking sheet and place in your pre heated oven. Stir the cashews every 10 minutes, for a total cooking time of 30 minutes. Depending on your oven and personal preferences, you can leave the cashews in for either less or more time to prefect the roast amount to your liking.
